Marlyse Dormond Béguelin

Marlyse Dormond Béguelin (born October 31, 1949 in Vevey ) is a former Swiss politician ( SP ).

Life

She began her political career as a local politician in Aigle (conseillère communale 1982–1984). She sat in the Cantonal Parliament of Vaud from 1994 to 1999. Between 1991 and 1995 she headed the SP of the Canton of Vaud as President.

She was then a national councilor for eight years (December 6, 1999 to December 2, 2007). The Vaudois sat on the Finance Commission for six years and previously on the Science, Education and Culture Commission for two years. As a social security expert, she submitted various proposals to parliament on health and health insurance issues.

In 2001 she married Michel Béguelin, who was then the SP Council of States .
