Maronite Antonians
The Maronite Antonians ( lat . : Ordo Antonianorum Maronitarum, abbreviation : OAM ) are a non- monastic religious community in the Maronite Syrian Church . In the Orient , several Catholic religious orders have called themselves "Antonians" since the 17th century . Their model was the hermit Antonius the Great (approx. 251-350), so there were the Armenian Atonians, Chaldean Antonians, Syrian Antonians, Ethiopian Antonians and the Maronite Antonians referred to here. They were originally monastic-contemplative and transformed into an active, non-monastic order with solemn vows .
