Marquis (from French "Duke, Count") is a place in the Quarter (district) Gros Islet in the east of the island state of St. Lucia in the Caribbean .
geography
Marquis is a remote place to the east of St. Lucia. It belongs to the Marquis Estate district and is located between Dauphin in the north, L'Hermitage in the south and La Guerre / Chicken Back Street in the west. The place is named after the Marquis River , which flows into the Atlantic about a kilometer further east in a bay.
