Martha Gunkel

Martha Gunkel (born October 5, 1858 in the province of Prussia , † June 29, 1913 in Rixdorf ) was a German educator and founder of the first girls' school in Rixdorf .

Life

She is considered the founder of the first girls' school in Rixdorf from October 8, 1888 to April 7, 1910. Until 1907, Martha Gunkel's private school was the only way for young women to attend school in Berlin at the turn of the century. She last lived in Rixdorf on Berliner Straße (today Karl-Marx-Straße 166 ), where a plaque still indicates it today.
