Martin Albert

Martin Albert (born January 5, 1909 in Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz , † November 10, 1991 in Kempten (Allgäu) ) was a German politician ( SPD ). From 1946 to 1958 he was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament .

Life

Albert did an apprenticeship as a locksmith and worked as a foreman, he was also active in the broadcasting industry. He was chairman of the Socialist Workers Youth Middle Franconia and head of the political cabaret "Rote Raketen". He was also a functionary in the Union of Railway Workers in Germany (EdED).

After the National Socialists came to power, Albert was active in the resistance. In 1936 he was arrested for continuing illegal activities for the Friends of Nature and deported to the Dachau concentration camp . Criminal proceedings for “preparation for high treason ” were initiated against him, but these were discontinued. After his release from prison, Albert was employed by the Nuremberg screw and electrical factory (NSF).

After 1945 Albert was again active in the SPD as chairman in Nuremberg. In 1946 he became state secretary of the SPD in Bavaria. From December 1, 1946 to November 23, 1958, Albert was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament. When he was elected to the first state parliament, he was elected to the state parliament through the direct mandate in the constituency of Upper Franconia / Middle Franconia. Albert was a member of the State Budget Committee, the State Council Affairs Committee and the Rules of Procedure Committee. In the subsequent election, he entered the constituency of Nuremberg I and, as in 1954, was again able to win a state parliament mandate. From 1950 to 1958 he was a full member of the Committee for Economics and Transport and from 1954 to 1958 of the Bavaria Palatinate Committee.
