Martin B. Gold

Martin Berson Gold (* 1947 in New York City , USA ) is a partner in the law firm Covington & Burling Washington, DC , co-chair of the company's Legislative Practice Group and a member of the United States Commission for the Conservation of America's Cultural Heritage Abroad ( United States Commission for the Preservation of Americas Heritage Abroad ).

Gold gained his experience in the legislature during his time as legal advisor to former Senate Majority Leader Howard Baker and former Senator Mark O. Hatfield. He was also the founder of Gold & Liebengood and the Legislative Strategies Group, two leading lobbying firms in Washington.

He also lectured at the Russian Federal Council, in the Parliament of Ukraine , at the University of Moscow , at the Office for Foreign Service in Russia and previously at numerous American universities on the political development of America and the parliamentary processes of the US Congress . On the recommendation of the US Senate Temporary President , President George W. Bush named him a member of the US Commission for the Conservation of America's Cultural Heritage Abroad in 2006.

Martin B. Gold was chosen in honor of his public service work at the Cosmos Club in Washington DC.
