Martin Geisz

Martin Geisz (* 1948 ) is a German educator and writer.

Life

He studied philosophy, politics, theology and education in Frankfurt and Tübingen - Occupation: Hessian school service at the Philipp-Reis-Schule (Friedrichsdorf) , in the teacher training and as an online editor at the Hessian education server. He is also the author of non-fiction books and teaching materials. In 2010, Martin Geisz was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Special focus areas are the pedagogical approach “ global learning ” and the “inclusion of the Internet and its interactive possibilities ( new media )” in educational work - this is reflected in the publications and the contributions to the current and fundamental debate. Other main areas of work are "learning philosophy" as a school task and the topic of "world cultural heritage".

In this context, the topic of “Harmonium Cultural Heritage” has been a new focus since 2013.

The commitment in these areas of work led u. a. to work on the “Orientation Framework for the Learning Area Global Development” of the German Conference of Ministers of Education (2007 and 2015), especially for the department of ethics - religion as well as in the revision 2015 as the author of the chapter “School framework conditions and pedagogical - didactic challenges”. This plan lays the foundations for anchoring the topic in schools.
