Martin Huidobro

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Martin Huidobro (born July 4, 1972 in Aachen ) is a German artist from Düsseldorf .

Huidobro studied philosophy and psychology in Bonn from 1992 to 1994. From 1994 to 2001 he studied fine arts at the Art Academy in Düsseldorf with Konrad Klapheck and Fritz Schwegler , whose master class he became in 2000.

The central theme in Huidobro's pictures, objects and installations is the object with its functional, aesthetic and evocative attributes. Shapes and colors are condensed to the essentials, whereby things experience a rigorous abstraction. Conceptually, Huidobro's art aims to dissolve the boundaries between painting, design, sculpture and architecture.

Works by Martin Huidobro have been in solo or group exhibitions since 2001, including in the Kunstraum Dornbirn , Vorteil eV, Aachen, the Ravensburg City Gallery, Kunstruimte Villa de Bank, Enschede, the former Imperial Abbey in Aachen-Kornelimünster and the Hans Strelow Gallery , Düsseldorf to find. His work is represented in private as well as public collections, including the art collection of North Rhine-Westphalia .
