Martin Stephens

Martin Stephens (born July 15, 1949 in Southgate , now part of London ) is a British actor who was one of the best-known child stars of British cinema in the 1960s.

Life

Stephens began his acting career at the age of six in the award-winning British post-war drama The Divided Hearts (1954). Five years later he appeared in Jean Negulesco's French Beds (1959). He played his most important role at the age of 12 in the classic horror film The Village of the Damned as David Zellaby on the side of George Sanders . This was followed by other roles in horror films such as Schloß des Schreckens (1961) and The Devil Dances at Midnight ( The Witches ) (1966). At the age of 18, Stephens decided to abandon his acting career, studied architecture in Belfast and later worked as an architect and mediation teacher in his hometown of London.

In 2006, Martin Stephens starred in the television documentary British Film Forever .
