Martin Teller

Martin Teller (born April 19, 1966 in Oldenburg ) is an Oldenburg historian and geographer .

Origin and education

Martin Teller was born in 1966 in Oldenburg in a civil servant family. He attended the Oldenburg Business School and, after graduating from high school, studied history and geography at the University of Oldenburg . In 2003 he completed his master's degree .

Research on Oldenburg history

Martin Teller runs a website on which he presents documents such as historical maps and provides information on the latest research on Oldenburg history. In 2006 he succeeded in determining the location of the lost Heidenwall based on detailed studies of historical maps . This determination of the location made it possible to secure the area for archaeological excavations.

Awards

On October 7th, 2009 Martin Teller was awarded the Karl Jaspers Medal of the City of Oldenburg by Mayor Gerd Schwandner in recognition of his services to the protection of the Heidenwall . He is the third recipient of this award, which is presented for services to the city's cultural interests. The ceremony took place in the great hall of the town hall.
