Martin Thuesen

Martin Castberg Thuesen (born June 28, 1979 in Frederiksberg ) is a former Danish basketball player .

Life

Thuesen received his basic basketball training at the Falcon Basketball Club in Frederiksberg . He then played for Aabyhøj IF, in 2001 the 1.80-meter-tall player moved to the Skovbakken Bears (later renamed Bakken Bears  ). After a strong 2004/05 season, in which Thuesen scored an average of 13.5 points for Bakken in the Danish league and recorded 4.7 basket assists per game and also  competed in the European club competition FIBA Europe Cup , he accepted an offer from the German second division club Ratiopharm Ulm . With the Ulm team under coach Mike Taylor , he was promoted to the Bundesliga in 2006 as the master of the southern season of the 2nd basketball league . In the top German division, Thuesen's playing time remained very limited, after eleven Bundesliga games (1.1 points / game) he left Ulm in January 2007 and moved to the Icelandic first division side Snæfell, for whom he played until the end of the 2006/07 season and the semi-finals reached the state championship.

In the run-up to the 2007/08 game year, he moved back to the Bakken Bears. Thuesen played for the team until 2013. In the course of his career, the development player with Bakken won the Danish championship seven times and the cup competition five times. For the Danish men's national team, he played 45 international matches.
