Martin Tilner (born February 1, 1964 ) is a former German soccer player .
Career
Coming from the Wattenscheid youth, Martin Tilner was accepted into the professional squad of SG Wattenscheid 09 by coach Fahrudin Jusufi at the age of 18 . On August 14, 1982 he made his debut in the 2nd Bundesliga in the home game against Alemannia Aachen . In his first professional season, the midfielder came on eight missions and achieved relegation in the second division with SG 09. For the club from Lohrheide , he completed a total of 103 second division games (nine goals) by 1986, when he left with the club in the 1985/86 season in ninth place.
In the 1986/87 season, Martin Tilner accepted the offer of the then Bayern league club TSV 1860 Munich , who wanted to return to professional football, but gambled away the championship in the second half of the season. Then in 1987 Tilner moved to FC Remscheid , the league champions from North Rhine-Westphalia, who had been promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga. With Remscheid he had to relegate back to the Oberliga Nordrhein in 1987/88 , but after three years they returned to the 2nd Bundesliga as champions of the 1990/91 season . For FCR, Tilner played 75 second division games from 1991 to 1993, scoring six goals.
After relegated to the league in 1993, he moved to Rot-Weiß Oberhausen a year later . At RWO, the midfield director took over the captain's armband and confidently led the team to the league championship in 1994/95 and the associated promotion to the regional league west / southwest . In 1997 Martin Tilner and Oberhausen were in the final of the German Amateur Championship , but there they lost 1: 2 to SSV Reutlingen 05 .
