Martina Kaufmann

Martina Kaufmann (born January 7, 1986 in Graz ) is an Austrian business economist and politician for the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP). She was a councilor in Graz from 2013 to 2017 and then moved to the Austrian National Council as a member.

education and profession

Martina Kaufmann studied business administration and communication science (MMSc. BA.). From 2008 to 2010 she was an employee of the ÖVP federal party and the ÖVP municipal council club. Afterwards Kaufmann was office manager of the former Graz city councilor Detlev Eisel-Eiselsberg until 2013 and office manager of city councilor Kurt Hohensinner until 2016 . Since 2016 she has been the managing partner of Tapezierer Kaufmann GmbH (family business; since 1957) and consultant and project manager of the Corporate Grassroots Factory. She was the top candidate for the People's Party in the regional constituency 6A - Graz and the surrounding area for the 2017 National Council election in Austria , achieved a mandate and was sworn in on November 9 in the Austrian National Council.

Political functions

Martina Kaufmann was federal chairwoman of the Austrian Student Union from 2007 to 2008 . Between 2006 and 2009 she was a member of the board of the Junge ÖVP Steiermark and subsequently also deputy chairman until 2016. She is the city chairwoman of the young ÖVP Graz, member of the board of the ÖAAB Styria and ÖAAB Graz as well as the regional management deputy of the ÖVP women Styria.

Others

She is a member of the student association KESt.V. Minerva and functionary of the Graz volunteer fire brigade (communication). In September 2019, Kaufmann came out as homosexual in a panel discussion on the 2019 National Council election, after she married her partner in spring 2019.
