Martinazzi Bitter is a famous vermouth - aperitif , in the classic variant with 22  volume percent alcohol content. According to the manufacturer, it is made from 25 herbs and roots.

history

The Italian bitter drink was first produced in Turin in 1864 . In 1928, Ernst Luginbühl-Bögli bought the recipe for making Martinazzi in Switzerland, having previously sold the drink in Switzerland for eight years.

Martinazzi was launched in 1934 and 1936 with other products such as B. the Ovaltine from Wander, presented in an exhibition train throughout Switzerland. Since it was not allowed to sell anything on this train, Ernst Luginbühl-Bögli tried to encourage the tasters to pay a voluntary obolus with a donation box.

Today the Martinazzi Bitter is produced by the Matter-Luginbühl AG distillery in Kallnach in Bern .
