Martine Géliot
Martine Géliot (born December 8, 1948 in Paris , † February 7, 1988 ) was a French harpist .
Life
Géliot was born in 1948 into a family of musicians: both her mother and grandmother were harpists. She studied with Pierre Jamet in Paris, where she graduated with the highest honors. In 1965, when she was only 16, she won the third international harp competition in Israel . In 1973 she had a brief appearance in the episode "La Harpiste" of the French TV series " Les Mohicans de Paris ". From 1978 she was a harpist with the Orchester National de France , and she also taught at the Paris Conservatory . She died on February 7, 1988 at the age of only 39.
