Mary Carroll

Mary Carroll (* 1950 ) is an Australian translation scholar in the field of audiovisual translation .

Life

After completing her studies, Carroll founded the company Titelbild Subtitling and Translation GmbH based in Berlin in 1991 , which she headed as chairwoman until 2011. She then worked as a consultant and trainer. Over time, Carroll has published a variety of publications in the fields of audiovisual translation and mediation and interpreting.

Mary Carroll is a member of the Transmedia Research Group, the Transforum - Coordination of Practice and Teaching of Interpreting and Translation, the Federal Association of Interpreters and Translators (BDÜ) and the Federal Association of Mediation (BM).

In 2012 she received the Jan Ivarsson Award for her contribution to the development of audiovisual translation .
