Masaaki Higashiguchi ( Japanese 東 口 順 昭 , Higashiguchi Masaaki ; born May 12, 1986 in Osaka Prefecture , Japan ) is a Japanese football player in the position of goalkeeper .

Career

Masaaki Higashiguchi (nickname: Higashi) started playing football at FC OWLS Inter. Hirono. He then played with several youth teams, including the youth team of Gamba Osaka at the Rakunan High School in Kyoto and at the Technical University of Fukui . At the Universiade 2008 Higashi was awarded the MVP Award, whereupon both his former club Gamba Osaka and the club Albirex became aware of him and wanted to sign him. Higashi joined Albirex in 2009.

He made his debut in the J. League when he came on on March 13, 2010 in the game against Júbilo Iwata in the 75 minutes for Takaya Kurokawa . After 3 years and 10 months in Niigata, Higashi switched to Gamba Osaka on January 1, 2014, to his former youth club. He played his first game on March 1, 2014 against Urawa Red Diamonds .
