The Masanderans live in what is now the Islamic Republic of Iran in the north on the Caspian Sea and in the Elburs Mountains . They make up the majority in the province of Mazandaran , and some Masanderans also live in the provinces of Golestan , Semnan , Tehran and Alborz . Due to the emigration of some Iranians, few Masanderans live in western countries.
