Masao Sugimoto ( Japanese 杉 本 雅 央 , Sugimoto Masao ; born June 26, 1967 in Shizuoka Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .
Career
Sugimoto learned to play soccer on the school team at Tokai University Daiichi High School and the university team at Juntendo University . He signed his first contract with Yamaha Motors in 1990 . The club played in the highest league in the country, the Japan Soccer League . For the club he completed 32 games. In 1993 he moved to the first division club Shimizu S-Pulse . In 1993 he reached the final of the J.League Cup . In 1996 he won the J.League Cup with the club. For the club he completed 32 first division games. At the end of 1996 he ended his career as a football player.
