The Mashiyama ( Japanese 増 山 氏 , Mashiyama-shi ) were a family of the Japanese sword nobility ( Buke ) from the Shimotsuke province, which was derived from Fujiwara no Uona (721 - 783). With an income of 20,000 Koku , the Mashiyama , who last resided in Nagashima ( Ise Province ), were among the smaller Fudai daimyos of the Edo period .

genealogy

The Mashiyama received the daimyo rank in 1647.

  • Masatoshi ( 正 利 ; 1623–1662) resided at Nishio Castle ( Mikawa ) with 20,000 Koku from 1659 ,
  • Masamitsu ( 正 弥 ; 1653-1704), biological son of Nasu Sukemitsu, the daimyo of Karasuyama, was adopted by Masatoshi and resided from 1663 at Shimodate Castle in Hitachi Province with 23,000 Koku. He and his descendants then resided at Nagashima Castle from 1702 to 1868 with 20,000 koku. The last daimyo was
