Kuwana ( Japanese 桑 名 市 , - shi ) is a city in the Japanese prefecture of Mie .

Kuwana is located southwest of Nagoya and north of Yokkaichi on Ise Bay .
history

Kuwana is an old castle town where the Hisamatsu last resided with an income of 100,000 Koku . At the same time, Kuwana was a post office ( 宿 場 町 , Shukuba-machi ) of the Tōkaidō during the Edo period .
