Aisai ( Japanese 愛 西 市 , -shi ) is a city in Aichi Prefecture on the Japanese main island of Honshu .
history
On April 1, 2005 , the Saya, Tatsuta, Hachikai and Saori communities merged to form Aisai City. The city name is made up of the Kanji ai of Aichi and sai (= west), as the city is located in the far west of the Aichi prefecture.

Aisai is west of Nagoya .
In the west of the city runs the river Kiso , which is the border with the prefectures of Gifu and Mie. Large parts of the urban area are below sea level.
