Nukata-gun (Aichi)

Nukata ( Japanese 額 田 郡 , - gun ) is a district in Aichi Prefecture in Japan , which merged with the city of Okazaki at the beginning of 2004 except for the municipality of Kōta .

Fusion history after World War II

After the end of the war, the district was made up of the following communities:

  • the communities ( chō ) Iwadsu 岩 津 町 , Kōta 幸 田 町 and Fukuoka 福岡 町 and
  • the villages ( mura ) Katano 形 埜村 , Kawai 河 合 村 , Shimoyama 下 山村 , Tokiwa 常 盤 村 , Toyotomi 豊 富 村 , Fujikawa 藤 川村 , Miyazaki 宮 崎 村 , Motojuku 本 宿 村 , Yamanaka 山 中 and Ry ūgai .

The city ​​of Okazaki was already trying to incorporate it after the Second World War , but the negotiations were initially unsuccessful.

  • April 1, 1952 - The village of Kōta receives parish status.
  • August 1, 1956 - The village of Toyosaka 豊 Dorf 村 ( Hazu County ) incorporated into Kōta.
  • February 1, 1955 - The communities of Iwadsu, Fukuoka and the villages of Motojuku, Yamanaka, Fujikawa, Ryūgai and Kawai are incorporated into the city of Okazaki .
  • September 30, 1956 - Toyotomi, Miyazaki, Katano and Shimoyama villages merge to form Nukata municipality.
  • November 14, 2003 - Kōta decides to participate in merger negotiations with the Okazaki-Nukata region.
  • January 1, 2004 - With the exception of Kōtas, the Nukata district is established in Okazaki City.

Parishes and villages

The only remaining place in the district is Kōta with an area of ​​56.78 km² and 34,893 inhabitants (as of 2004).
