Anjō ( Japanese 安 城市 , -shi ) is a city in Aichi Prefecture . The name Anjō means something like safe lock and comes from the castle that no longer exists today. The city is located southeast of Nagoya and borders Okazaki to the east . The urban area is very flat and the landscape is monotonous. The two large companies in the automotive supply industry, Denso and Aisin , which have factories or their headquarters in Anjō, are known above all . Anjō received the nickname Japanese Denmark from the Denpark theme park , which has Denmark as its theme. A well-known festival is the Anjō- Tanabata - Matsuri (安 城 七夕 祭 り, Star Festival ), which (unlike in the rest of Japan) takes place in August and lasts for three days.
