The Sani Abacha Stadium (English Sani Abacha Stadium ) is a stadium in the Nigerian city ​​of Kano . It holds 25,000 spectators (16,000 seats), making it the largest stadium in Kano. The stadium is named after the former Nigerian military dictator Sani Abacha (1993-1998), who came from Kano.

The stadium is equipped with floodlights and an electronic result display. In 1999 the stadium was expanded to host the junior soccer world championship there. In 2000, soccer games of the African Cup of Nations took place in the stadium , including the quarter-finals of the African Cup of Nations 2000 on February 7, 2000 between Egypt and Tunisia (0: 1).

The stadium is currently used as a venue by the local soccer club Kano Pillars .
