Kaizu ( Japanese 海 津市 , -shi ) is a city in the Japanese prefecture of Gifu .

geography

Kaizu is located south of Gifu and northwest of Nagoya in the estuary of the three rivers Kiso , Nagara and Ibi . The city is already at sea level and is therefore within the dyke system of this level, called "Wajū".

history

The city of Kaizu was founded on March 28, 2005 from the union of the municipalities Kaizu ( 海 津 町 , -chō ), Nannō ( 南 濃 町 , -chō ) and Hirata ( 平 田 町 , -chō ) of Kaizu County. The district was then dissolved.
