Hashima ( Japanese 羽 島 市 , -shi ) is a city in the Japanese prefecture of Gifu .

history

The city was founded on April 1, 1954.

geography

Hashima is south of Gifu and northwest of Nagoya .

The Nagara River flows through the city from northwest to southwest. The Kiso River flows through the city from northeast to southeast.

traffic

Hashima is connected to the Meishin Highway . At Gifu-Hashima Station you can take the JR Tōkaidō Shinkansen to Tokyo and Hakata .
