Minokamo ( Japanese 美濃 加 茂 市 , -shi ) is a city in the Japanese prefecture of Gifu .

Minokamo has the largest proportion of Brazilians in all of Japan. With its own Brazilian schools, sports teams and grocery stores, a Latin American influence is evident in the city. However, Minokamo is not very different from other Japanese cities, as the two parts of the population have not mixed and even larger Brazilian festivals such as the Carnival go relatively unnoticed.

The city of Minokamo was founded on April 1, 1954 .
