Shima ( jap. 志摩 市 , - shi ) is a city in the Japanese prefecture of Mie on the Shima peninsula .

The coastal town with around 60,000 inhabitants is located in a central Japanese holiday region that is known for its Shinto shrines . The Ago Bay is the center of Japanese pearl farming, after it was introduced in Japan here 1,893th The 2016 G7 summit took place on the island of Kashiko-jima .
