The Shima Peninsula ( Japanese 志摩 半島 Shima-hantō ) is a peninsula on the east coast of Honshū in Mie Prefecture in Japan . The region is also known as Ise-Shima ( 伊 勢 志摩 ).

It is located southwest of Nagoya and separates the Pacific Ocean in the south from Ise Bay in the north. The communities on the peninsula include Toba , Ise , Shima and those of Watarai County . The peninsula has a Riyal coast with deeply drawn in bays, such as Matoya Bay in the east, Ago Bay in the southeast and Gokasho Bay in the south.

The islands around the peninsula are also called Shima Islands ( 志摩 諸島 Shima-shotō ), although geographically they do not form an island group. Larger islands are Tōshi-jima , Suga-jima and Kamishima in the northeast, Watakano-jima in Matoya Bay, and Kashiko-jima and Hazaki-jima in Ago Bay.

A large part of the coast belongs to the Ise Shima National Park .
