The G7 summit in Ise - Shima 2016 was the 42nd summit of the leaders of the Group of Seven . The meeting was chaired by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzō Abe on May 26 and 27, 2016. The venue was the Shima Kanko Hotel on the island of Kashiko-jima off the coast of Honshu .

The guests were Sheikh Hasina Wajed ( Bangladesh ), Joko Widodo ( Indonesia ), Thongloun Sisoulith ( Laos ), Peter O'Neill ( Papua New Guinea ), Maithripala Sirisena ( Sri Lanka ), Idriss Déby ( Chad ) and Nguyễn X. Phúc ( Vietnam ) took part in the talks.
