The Massa , also Masa , are a people who live in Chad and Cameroon .

The Masa are an ethnic group of Sudanese origin who make their living mainly from fishing along the Logone river between Chad and Cameroon. Their language is the Massa .

As a traditional religion they have a monotheistic god, the supreme creator Lawna . Because of the missionary work during the German colonial era, there are also Christians (Catholics, Protestants) among the Massa. Recently, Sunni Islam has spread increasingly .
