Massimo Magrì

Massimo Magrì (born August 25, 1940 in Milan ) is an Italian industrial and advertising filmmaker .

Magrì joined “Slogan Film” in 1960, which produced advertising, and two years later made a documentary with Alberto Cavallone about the Algerian war . After further positions for advertising film companies, he founded Politecne Cinematografica spa in 1968 , of which he was president until 1992. Since 2002 he has been teaching in the Department of Design and Art at the Architecture University IUAV in Venice .

Magrì has made numerous short , documentary , industrial and advertising films ; for the latter he has received several awards. In 1971 his only feature film, Passato remoto, was invited to the Venice Film Festival . In 1982 he made a television series. In 2008, his film about Caravaggio received praise from critics, especially for the successful imitation of the lighting design.
