Animal fattening

Animal fattening is a production method in livestock farming . The aim is to produce animals for meat production so that their meat can be used for human consumption after slaughter . This goal is achieved through coordinated feeding of the animals, which leads to greater meat growth. A distinction must be made between:

The animal fattening is seldom done outdoors, but mostly in fattening systems or large fattening systems. Farms that predominantly or exclusively fatten animals are called 'fattening farms' or 'large fattening farms'. They operate factory farming (also intensive livestock farming , livestock farming or landless livestock production called), which is a mechanized farming usually only one species for the production of as many animal products.

They are in public criticism because of the environmental pollution associated with them (e.g. multiple antibiotic- resistant germs and odors); some have to be equipped with filter systems.
