Mathias Martin (architect)
Mathias Martin (born November 27, 1882 in Welscheid ; † November 8, 1943 in Luxembourg ) was a Luxembourgish architect and author.
After the First World War, Martin and colleagues such as Louis Rossi (1899–1957), Nicolas Petit (1876–1953), MUH Gus Schoppen (1890–1931) created the “modern city” of Luxembourg . Robert Philippart even described Martin as a “visionary of l'art nouveau ”.
Martin's most famous buildings today are the Villa Pauly and the Hotel Carlton , both of which are listed buildings.
