Mathias Perl

Mathias Perl (born January 17, 1989 in Giessen ) is a German basketball player. The 1.87 meter tall player played in the basketball Bundesliga for the Gießen 46ers and has been part of the Hertener Löwen squad since 2018 .

career

Perl began his basketball club career at MTV 1846 Gießen and developed into a junior national player. In the summer of 2004 he took part in the European Championship with Germany's U16 team, and one year later he was also part of the German squad for the U16 European Championship (B group).

After first appearances in the regional league men's team of VfB Gießen, Perl played for LTi Lich (later Licher Basket Bären ) from 2007 onwards, first in the 2nd Bundesliga ProA , then in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB . The Licher served the Giessen first division club as a youth development team. Perl was also part of the Gießen Bundesliga squad and made his debut in the top German division in a duel with Braunschweig in December 2009. By 2012 he made a total of 54 Bundesliga appearances for Giessen.

Following the 2011/12 season, he withdrew from the Giessen Bundesliga squad and played for Lich in the ProB until 2014. In 2014 Perl moved to the EN Baskets Schwelm, with whom he had to accept relegation from the ProB in 2016, but returned to the third highest German league in 2017 as champion of the 1st Regionalliga West.

In the summer of 2018 he joined the Hertener Löwen in the 1st regional league.
