Isidora Andrea Jiménez Ibacache (born August 10, 1993 in Concepción ) is a Chilean sprinter who specializes in the 200 meters .

Athletic career

For the first time at an international championship, Isidora Jiménez entered the South American Youth Championships in Lima in 2008 , where she won the silver medal with the Chilean sprint relay. Two years later she won gold over 100 and 200 meters in Santiago de Chile . In 2011 she finished seventh over 200 meters at the South American Championships in Buenos Aires and won the bronze medal in both sprint relays. In 2012 she took part in the Junior World Championships in Barcelona , where she reached the semi-finals over 200 meters. At the U23 South American Championships in São Paulo , she won gold with the 4-by-100-meter relay and silver over 200 meters and with the 4-by-400-meter relay. In 2013, at the South American Championships in Cartagena, Colombia , she just missed a medal in fourth over 200 meters and with the relay. However, she qualified for the World Championships in Moscow , where she was eliminated over 200 meters in the preliminary round. At the Juegos Bolivarianos in Trujillo , she was fourth in the short sprint relay and won bronze in the 4 x 400 meter relay.

In 2014 she took fifth place over 100 meters and 200 meters at the South American Games in Santiago de Chile and won silver in the relay. At the U23 South American Championships in Montevideo , she won silver over 200 meters and bronze with the Chilean relay. In 2015 she won silver over 100 and 200 meters and bronze with the relay at the South American Championships in Lima . At the Pan American Games in Toronto , she reached over 100 and 200 meters and into the semi-finals and set new national records in both disciplines. With the 4 x 200 meter relay, however, she failed in the first round. She also qualified for the World Championships in Beijing , where she was eliminated in the first round over 100 meters and 200 meters . In 2016 she was fourth at the Ibero-American Championships in Rio de Janeiro in the 100 and 200 meters and finished sixth in the relay. At the Olympic Games there she was eliminated over 200 meters in the lead .

In 2017 she took part in the South American Championships in Luque , where she finished fifth over 200 meters. At the World Championships in London , she was eliminated in the preliminary round . A few weeks later she reached the semi-finals at the World Student Games in Taipei , where she was eliminated with 24.31 s. The following year she took part in the 60-meter run at the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham and was eliminated there with 7.38 s in the first round. At the beginning of June, at the South American Games in Cochabamba , she won the silver medal again in 3: 33.42 min with the 4 x 400 meter relay and was fifth in the 100 meters in 11.33 s and in the 200 meter run in 23 , 13s fourth. At the IAAF World Relays 2019 in Yokohama , she was eliminated in the first round with the 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 31.24 minutes. In May she was fourth over 100 meters in 11.68 s at the South American Championships in Lima and did not start in the final over 200 meters.

In 2018, Jiménez became the Chilean champion in the 100 and 200 meters.
