Mathias Zogg

Mathias Zogg (* 1939 in Chur ) is a Swiss singer, conductor, teacher, composer for folk music and owner of the Bärgröseli publishing house .

Life

Born in Chur, Mathias Zogg grew up in Tamins . He has lived in St. Pelagiberg TG since 1967 . He conducted yodelling choirs from Eastern Switzerland, including the Stadtjodler in Fürstenland Gossau SG from 1970 to 1998 , the Heimatchörli Gottshaus TG from 1986 , and the Neukirch-Egnach yodelling club from 1977 to 1989. Trained by Paul Müller-Egger , he became known as a composer himself. Of his around 100 compositions, SUISA nominated his song, Kamerade , performed for the first time in 1980 at the Yodelling Festival in Gossau, SG , for twelve years as the most frequently sung yodelling song. His works are self-published by Bärgröseli.
