Mathieu Ganio

Mathieu Ganio (born March 16, 1984 in Marseille ) is a French ballet dancer . He is currently the youngest dancer at the Paris Opera with the rank of solo dancer ( étoile ).

Education and career

Mathieu Ganio is the son of Dominique Khalfouni and Denis Ganio. Both parents were soloists in French ballet companies . He started taking dance lessons at the age of seven. From 1992 to 1999 he completed his ballet training at the Marseille Dance School. Then he was accepted into the ongoing training of the Paris Opera Ballet School (École de danse de l'Opéra national de Paris). In 2001 Ganio joined the corps de ballet of the Paris Opera. In 2004 he was appointed solo dancer at a performance by the Don Quichotte ballet .
