There she met the German painter Leo von König . Between 1901 and 1906 she exhibited five times as a guest of the Berlin Secession . In 1907 she married Leo von König. Her name was now Mathilde Freifrau von König-Tardif. She brought her daughter Yvonne (1892–1957) with her into the marriage, who was adopted by Leo von König. The couple traveled to Portugal and Spain from April to October 1908 together with their friends Anna and Julius Meier-Graefe .
