Matt Aufderhorst

Matt Aufderhorst (* 1965 in Hamburg ) is a German essayist and journalist .

Career

Aufderhorst studied German language and literature, art history and sociology at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel and the Universität Hamburg and obtained his Magister Artium with a thesis on visual poetry . He has worked as a television and radio journalist, including as a reporter for the news channel N24 (today: WeltN24 GmbH ). His essays on architecture, memory and history have appeared in the cultural magazine Lettre International , the weekly magazine der Freitag and the North American literary magazine Brick . Aufderhorst writes in both German and English. His short film Eschede was shown at the 40th Nordic Film Days Lübeck . He also works as a moderator for cultural events, for example for the Berlin International Literature Festival . Aufderhorst is a co-founder of Authors for Peace , an author platform for writers to promote peace, which he launched together with Priya Basil in 2010.
