Matt Nelson (pianist)

Matthew "Matt" Nelson (* around 1975) is an American jazz musician ( piano , keyboard , composition ).

Live and act

Nelson lived in Chicago from 2003; there he played u. a. in the Aaron Koppel Quintett ( The Wild Call of the Multi-Tasker ; 2007), with Shaun Maxwell and Tim Teisser. In 2002 his debut album Something Crazy was released . In 2010 he recorded the album Nostalgiamanic (Chicago Sessions) in trio with Graham Czach (bass) and Matt Nischan (drums) . It received positive reviews on Down Beat and All About Jazz . In the following years he also worked with Sam Kulik and in the Talibam! (with Ron Stabinsky ), Marbin and Arts & Sciences . In the field of jazz he was involved in 16 recording sessions from 2007 to 2017.

He is not to be confused with the saxophonist of the same name from New York.
