Matthew Kneale
Matthew Kneale (born November 24, 1960 ) is a British author.
Kneale was best known for his novel English Passengers (2000), which won the Whitbread Book Award . He studied modern history at Magdalen College . After a stay in Japan, he started writing. He currently lives in Lazio , an hour's drive from Rome, in Italy. His other awards include the Somerset Maugham Award (1988) and the John Llewellyn Rhys Prize (1992).
Kneale is the son of Nigel Kneale and Judith Kerr and the brother of Tacy Kneale .
