Matthias Blum

Matthias Blum is a German Catholic theologian and educator .

Life

He acquired the Graecum and Hebraicum at the Bethel Church University and studied Catholic theology, educational science, adult education, psychology and sociology. With the diploma thesis The Habermassche Communication Theory and its Significance for Educational Science , he obtained the diploma in education . With Rainer Kampling he was a research assistant at the seminar for Catholic theology from 1996 to 2008. His work and research focus are general educational science, biblical didactics, educational theories against the background of the anti-Judaism / anti-Semitism question from a historical and contemporary perspective, educational philosophy, history of biblical studies with special consideration of the 19th century, history of Christian hostility towards Jews and their coming to terms, Holocaust education / Education after Auschwitz, Judaism in Catholic religious instruction, Judeo-Christian dialogue, the Lukan double work, new and old Pauline perspective, history of reception of the Bible, Schleiermacher and Schleiermacher's reception, theories of religious education and value education / democracy education.
