Rainer Kampling (born December 2, 1953 in Neuenkirchen , Münsterland) is a Roman Catholic German theologian . His research focus is the theology and history of Jewish-Christian relations.

Life

Rainer Kampling studied Roman Catholic theology , Latin philology and Jewish studies at the Westphalian Wilhelms University . 1983 he was with the dissertation The Blood of Christ and the Jews. Mt 27.25 with Latin-speaking Christian authors up to Leo the Great . Kampling has been Professor of Biblical Theology / New Testament at the Free University of Berlin since 1992 . He is a signatory of the memorandum “ Church 2011: A Necessary Awakening ”. One of his research projects is devoted to the Catholic Tübingen School of the 19th century.
