Matthias Duscher

Matthias Duscher (born January 9, 1891 in St. Florian am Inn ; † December 14, 1967 in Linz ) was a farmer and politician.

Life

The owner of a farm was not only active in the economic, but also in the political area, where he primarily represented the interests of small farmers. He was not only active in local, but also in state and federal politics. For 41 years he was a member of the parish council of St. Florian and was mayor of this parish from 1959 to 1967.

Duscher was Councilor of the Chamber of Agriculture between 1932 and 1938 and first Vice-President of the Chamber of Agriculture from 1945 to 1961, then a member of the Chamber's General Assembly until his death. In addition, he worked from 1945 to 1962 as chairman of the Upper Austrian Small House Association and at the same time as the first deputy chairman of the Upper Austrian Farmers Association. In addition, he held various functions in the agricultural cooperative system. Due to his diverse services he received numerous honors.

From 1927 to 1934 Duscher was a member of the National Council and then until 1938 of the Federal Economic Council. After the Second World War he was a member of the Upper Austrian Landtag until 1961 and during this time chairman of the finance committee.
