Matthias Gärtner (politician)
Matthias Gärtner (born November 18, 1972 in Lutherstadt Wittenberg ) is a German politician ( PDS ) and former member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt .
biography
After graduating from high school in 1991, Gärtner studied political science at the University of Halle-Wittenberg .
He joined the PDS in 1991. From 1991 to 1994 and again from 1996 to 1997 he was spokesman for the Wittenberg district board.
He was elected to the Wittenberg district council in 1999. Gärtner was a member of the Saxony-Anhalt state parliament from 1994 to 2006. There he was domestic political spokesman for the parliamentary group in the second electoral term and deputy chairman of the parliamentary group in the third electoral term.
After leaving the state parliament, he became an employee of the left parliamentary group in the state parliament of Lower Saxony .
