Matthias Petschke

Matthias Petschke (* 1962 in Lauterbach ) is a German EU official . From 2009 to 2013 he was Head of the Representation of the European Commission in Germany . Since then, Petschke has been director of the EU satellite navigation programs ( Galileo and EGNOS ) in the Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs .

Life and work

Petschke studied law at the Universities of Würzburg , Lausanne and Freiburg .

In 1995 he joined the European Commission. Petschke previously worked for the Permanent Representation of the Federal Republic of Germany to the European Union . From 2004 to 2009 he was Head of Department in the Directorate for Procurement of the Internal Market and Services Directorate-General .
