Matthias Prasse

Matthias Prasse (born August 29, 1972 in Quedlinburg ) is a German cultural historian and monument curator.

Life

Prasse studied cultural studies with a focus on history and cultural marketing at the Fernuniversität Hagen . In 2006, as a scholarship holder of the German Foundation for Monument Protection, he completed a supplementary course in monument conservation and inventory development. He works as a freelance exhibition maker and lecturer.

As an idea generator and project manager, he designed a. a. the exhibitions “Palaces and Gardens between Elbe and Fläming”, “With a cross, sword and plowshare - The Teutonic Order in Central Germany”, “THE ELBE. Biography of a River ”,“ The Discovery of Home. Anhalt in historical views from three centuries ”and“ 1813. For freedom and unity ”. Since 2009 he has been writing the weekly article series MZ-Schlössertour for the daily newspaper Mitteldeutsche Zeitung (MZ). The book “Arkadien am Elbstrom” is one of his publications.

Prasse is the administrator of the former German Order Coming St. Elisabeth in Buro (Anhalt) . In the anniversary year "2012 - 800 years of Anhalt" he was the official "Anhalt writer" on behalf of the Evangelical Church of Anhalt. Prasse is the chairman of the Saxony-Anhalt Historic Houses and Gardens Association, which was founded in 2015 .
