Matthias Schmidt-Preuß (born September 1, 1948 in Heidelberg ) is professor of public law at the Faculty of Law and Political Science at the University of Bonn .

S.-P. studied in Tübingen , Gießen , Marburg , Bonn and at Harvard University . In 1976 he did his doctorate at the University of Marburg with the dissertation “Central constitutional issues of state wage and price directives”. Then he worked in the Ministry of Economic Affairs. In 1992 , Schmidt-Preuß completed his habilitation at the University of Bayreuth with a thesis entitled “Conflicting Private Interests in Administrative Law”. In 1993 he was appointed university professor. Schmidt-Preuß has been Professor at the University of Bonn since April 1, 2002.
